Welcome to an awesome addition to Downtown Miami — Silverspot Cinema! This state of the art 17-screen movie theatre features fully-reclining plush seats, Barco high-contrast laser projection, and its newest addition — Dolby Atmos, the most advanced surround sound system in the world! The theatre has elegant lounge areas on each floor with full bars that offer an assortment of fine wines, ice cold beers, and signature cocktails. More than having just a concession stand, Silverspot Cinema has “Trilogy” which features a full menu of chef-inspired delicious treats ranging from appetizers to entrees. Both food and drinks can be ordered on Silverspot’s app and delivered right to you in your reserved seat. Forget about eating at a restaurant and then rushing to a theatre to try to catch that last showtime. Dinner and a movie can now be at one single location that allows you to enjoy both at the same time!

This Grand Opening VIP Party was on Thursday, May 9, 2019, which celebrated the arrival of Dolby Atmos to this location. A glass of champagne upon your entrance followed by a party atmosphere complete with a DJ as well as hors d’oeuvres and an open bar made this a truly spectacular night! Demonstrations of the Dolby Atmos surround sound system were showcased in Auditorium 13. A choice of one of two comedies was offered to each guest upon the end of the night’s festivities along with unlimited popcorn, Argentinian chocolates (“Cachafaz” Alfajores), and bottled water. The movie choices were “Long Shot” with Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron & “The Hustle” with Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson. I chose “Long Shot” and was blown away by the 4K laser projection which pushes HDR (High Dynamic Range) to a new level. This is the exact technology that James Cameron is pushing theatres to update to for his upcoming 3D HFR (High Frame Rate) “Avatar” sequels. Silverspot is already set up for the future of cinema!

For parking, there are garages as well as valet. I parked at the SE Financial Center parking garage. You may want to reconsider parking here especially if you drive a large SUV because of the dreaded corkscrew-like very narrow driveway that takes you up and down several stories. You’ll see this at the end of the video.
Validated parking for this location is flat for the entire night which may be the best deal overall. There is another garage that the theatre validates parking for at the rate of for 4 hours – however, if you go over the 4 hr time limit by even one minute, I was told you’ll owe ! If you’re thinking about eating and/or having drinks before or after the movie and perhaps taking a stroll, I’d stick with either valet or the flat-rate parking garage and learn to master the corkscrew.

Overall, I simply love this Silverspot Cinema and can’t wait to go back!
