Revenge of the Mummy

Revenge of the Mummy is one of the best and most popular rides at Universal Studios theme park! Yep, you guessed it, it’s not New York themed at all, but by the time you come out of this ride, it won’t matter! This is a scary, thrill-ride roller coaster.

Revenge of the Mummy is an all-time favorite ride at Universal Studios in Orlando It’s entirely indoors, it’s a very fast roller coaster but it doesn’t go upside down. The longest plunge is about 30ft, but because it’s all in darkness, it certainly feels like more than that! There’s some great special effects, which I think are holograms. All sorts of ghosts and monsters appear as the train whips around the track. Oh, and just when you think the ride is finished….it’s not!

Is a live outdoor show in Delancy Street, NYC. There are regular performances throughout the day of the songs originally made famous by Dan Akroyd and John Belushi.

Twister

Hmmm, another distinctly non-New York themed ride! Twister is based on the 1996 film. You’ll find out what it’s like to be in the middle of a raging tornado out in Kansas.

I have to say that I wasn’t too impressed with Twister, it seemed very dated and not at all scary or realistic! The preamble to the show involved watching a video of Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton telling us about how great it was to film the movie. How the sheer intensity of twisters was frightening.

Now that’s all well and good, but after that, the show that followed didn’t much resemble a twister. Of course, it would be impossible to do so in real life – with all the health and safety rules – people would get hurt! There is an indoor stage set up to look like a rural Kansas town. Then some large fans begin to blow air on you, you’ll get sprayed with some water, a plastic cow flies by, some traffic lights fall down…and that’s about it. If there are long lines, I would say give it a miss!
