This is my first vlog video away from my main channel (Frugal Brit Orlando). I flew out on 8 November 2021 from Manchester Airport to Orlando International Airport in Florida, the first day that the borders were opened. Due to the crazy prices for flights, I ended up booking an indirect flight via JFK, which meant I had to do immigration there instead of MCO. For the first two nights of the trip I stayed at Universal’s Endless Summer Dockside Inn resort, however that’ll be covered in more detail on a different video.

Hope you enjoy! I’ll be staying at Dockside Inn, Universal’s Cabana Bay, Rosen Inn Pointe Orlando, Coco Key Hotel and Water Resort, Homewood Suites on International Drive near the convention centre and the DoubleTree at SeaWorld Orlando. I’ll be visiting Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, SeaWorld Orlando, and Universal’s Volcano Bay. If you’ll be interested in any of these hotels and parks, subscribe for future videos 😁

Summary of requirements for entering the US as of 8 November 2021:

*please check for updates*

Summary of requirements as of 3 November 2021:

1. Get proof of your vaccinations, exception or your recent recovery from covid. Take this with you.

2.

**UPDATE 27 NOVEMBER 2021 – UK GOVERNMENT HAS ANNOUNCED THE RETURN OF DAY 2 PCR TESTING FOR RETURNING TO THE UK**

Book your PCR or lateral flow test (antigen) within 3 days of outbound departure from UK. I.e. if your flight is on the Monday, you can get the test booked anytime on the Friday before. If you use an antigen test, this needs to be supervised from an FDA approved provider. There appears to still be a lot of uncertainty about which providers will be accepted for the antigen tests. E.g. Lloyds pharmacy has come out and said they are not FDA approved. I have booked an antigen test with Randox in Liverpool. I’d recommend using the provider that your airline recommends. However, I have taken a minor risk in going with Randox which isn’t listed by Virgin Atlantic.

3. Do your test and get the result/fit to fly certificate, take this with you.

4. Complete the attestation form within 72 hours of departure from UK, which should be provided by your airline.

5. Order day 2 test for when you return and note the number(s) with you on holiday.

6. Go on holiday.

7. Complete the passenger locator form up to 48 hours before your return flight. You’ll need your reference numbers from point 5 above.

8. Come home.

9. Do your returning to the UK lateral flow test. And upload a photo to the government website.
